The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) is an independent health and medical research institute in Adelaide, South Australia. The institute is housed in an iconic, purpose-built eponymous building in South Australia's health and biomedical precinct on North Terrace, Adelaide. According to SAHMRI itself, the institute is composed of approximately 600 researchers, both local and international. The institute officially opened on 29 November 2013 and was incorporated in December of that year. As at 2015, the institute receives approximately AUD $5 million per year in funding from the Government of South Australia.〔 ==References==
